Hello and welcome to my new site which replaces the now defunct www.steve-harper.fotopic.net where I shall initially upload my railway images taken since returning to the railway scene early in 2009. I began my interest in railways back in the late 70's in my then hometown of Carlisle where I was an avid spotter complete with Ian Allan Combined Volume. This later progressed into 'haulage basher' and led to many thousands of miles chasing obscure haulage across the country. At the same time my interest in railway photography also took off using an ancient Petri 35mm SLR. As soon as I can afford a decent slide scanner then I intend to add many of these images from my slide collection taken during the 1980's
